Welcome to another installment of our series, “Modern & Mobile Mondays!” Each week, we are sharing a new way to help your business stay connected and on-the-go. Today, we are featuring DHL.

Disruptive Digitalization
Digitalization is disruptive, and the traditional, linear supply chain model of the past is rapidly changing. However, there are plenty of ways that successful integration of digitalization can improve your operations. Research from McKinsey shows that organizations that aggressively digitalize their supply chains can improve annual growth of earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) by 3.2 percent and boost annual revenue growth by 2.3 percent.

Survey Results
To learn more about this process, DHL Supply Chain conducted a survey of around 350 supply chain and operations professionals from around the world.

It turns out that over half of the companies surveyed are still in the early or developing stages of adoption in terms of digitalization technology. The surveyed individuals cited a few major concerns during their digitization process, such as reliability concerns, resistance to change, and insufficient return on investment. Changing operations and introducing new systems and patterns can be difficult, but there are some strategies to ease this struggle, such as developing operationally-specific strategies and collaborating with external partners.

82% of respondents ranked reduced costs and improved profitability as the largest benefit. As digitalization continues to grow and be implemented more frequently, we will be able to see the full extent of these results.

We can help support your organization’s digital transformation goals. Contact us to find out how we can aid you in the digitalization process, in terms of both technology and adoption.
