Stan Marshall of Georgia Pacific led “Track I: The Future of Parts Inventory Management: A Study in MRO Efficiency”. He has served for 31 years as a consultant, helping companies improve their supply chain processes and encouraging them to try new things that allow for better use of their valuable resources. In the video, Marshall explains through different case studies how MRO efficiency has changed throughout the years.
MRO and RFID
Have you ever taken your car into the repair shop, only to be told “we don’t have the part you need”? MRO (maintenance, repair and operations) stores have lots of moving pieces, so there are countless opportunities to improve efficiency by switching up old processes. That way, you won’t ever have to worry about a missing part again! As Marshall explains, by incorporating RFID technology (which you can read more about here), companies can “improve reliability, efficiency, parts management, parts tracking and reduce overall cost and increase cycle count accuracy”. It takes care of the little details, so that businesses can focus time, costs and energy on what really matters.
