On Thursday, October 24th, we hosted an Open House event to unveil our brand new headquarters in Highlandtown. It was an honor to have so many of our team members, customers, and community members there to celebrate this exciting new beginning with us.
The Restoration
The building is located on Bank Street. It housed the I.C. garment factory until 2009. The building has a great history for both the town, where it has stood for over a century, and our own organization, as our CEO, Jay Steinmetz, recalled visiting the factory years ago with his father to purchase jeans and sportswear for his father’s clothing stores. Because of this, we wanted to take extra care with our construction and find a blend between restoring the building to its former glory, while making it a modern, function workspace for our employees. Expansion In Baltimore and Beyond
We’ve made a conscious effort to maintain our commitment to not only our customers, but to our city—staying in Baltimore was extremely important to us.
“This building is phenomenal, but never forget that it’s about the people in this building and about the people in the surrounding neighborhoods,” Barcoding, Inc. president Shane Snyder said. We plan to have about 75 employees working out of the building at first, including the support, sales, marketing, operations and finance teams.
“The future of Barcoding begins today,” Steinmetz stated just prior to the ribbon cutting—we couldn’t agree more and are excited to begin this new chapter in Barcoding history.
The Highlandtown building is not our only recent expansion. Earlier this year, we opened offices in Montreal, Vancouver, and Toronto to launch Barcoding Canada.
