Target to Launch New QR Code App

Even though it hasn’t even reached Halloween, retail stores are already gearing up for the winter holiday season. And retail giant Target is no exception. Except this year, they want to make sure that kids won’t know what Santa has in store for them.

On Oct. 14, Target will be launching an in-store QR code app to manage the sales of the 2012 holiday season’s top 20 toys. The app will allow parents to shop with their kids without spoiling Santa’s surprise by using QR codes on the shelves. The app offers the convenience of scan-to-purchase, having items shipped to any U.S. address for free.

This QR code-based app is ideal for busy parents who can’t always get time away from their kids. The most popular 20 toys will be prominently featured in-store with easy-to-scan QR codes to make everyone’s holiday season a bit brighter.
