New GS1 Guidelines for Apparel Retailers
New RFID guidelines for VARs and apparel retailers were recently announced, so what does this mean for you?
The new guidelines were created by the GS1, assigning serialized identification numbers to individual items and thus allowing traceability thoughout the global apparel supply chain.
EPC-enabled RFID Serialization Management for SGTIN-96 are now available through the GS1 US website, providing companies with best practices for assigning globally unique numbers to individual items, using a GTIN and a unique serial number, known as the Serialized Global Trade Item Number (SGTIN).
The new guidelines will serve as a supplement to GS1 standards already a part of the GS1 System and should help companies leverage their existing technology investments and move forward with EPC item-level implementations. Learn more.
