Need a Prescription Refill? Scan It!
Pharmacy apps allow users to refill prescription medications by scanning a barcode.
In order to refill a monthly medication, you needn’t manually call in your refills anymore. Ride Aid, Walgreens and CVS all have their own smartphone apps that allow users to simply scan the barcode on their medication and then pick it up when they’re ready!
The “refill by scan” feature on all of theses apps utilizes existing barcodes on prescription bottles in order to scan. Once the prescription is ready for pick-up, users can choose to receive an e-mail, text or phone call.
The Rite Aid, Walgreens and CVS apps are all free to download for both iOS and Android.
