Meet FRAN at NRF – Retail’s BIG Show!

The National Retail Federation (NRF) will be hosting their 101st Annual Convention and Expo, Retail’s Big Show 2012. Beginning on Jan. 15 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York, the show will be attended by anyone who’s somebody in retail, including over 22,000 industry professions, 500 exhibitors and 175 speakers.

Barcoding Inc. will be exhibiting in the Motorola Solutions booth, booth number 1702. Stop by to see a demonstration of their dressing room technology, the Fitting Room Assistant Network (FRAN) on Motorola Solutions’ ET1 Enterprise Tablet. The demonstration will provide a live example of how retailers can improve efficiency and increase sales through the right technology.

FRAN is Barcoding Inc.’s proprietary system engineered for retailers to maximize revenue from customers’ fitting room experience. In addition, Fran allows for increased control over their inventory as it moves around the store and into the fitting room.

Essentially, once the customer has selected what they would like to try on, they enter the fitting and store personnel uses a barcode scanner to scan the items. Customers can then use the Motorola ET1 tablet as an interactive kiosk, as FRAN suggests additional items to purchase. Customers can then request that a salesperson bring a requested item without ever having to raise their voice. Thus, a more positive fitting room experience is created for both the customer and retailer. Once the shopping has been completed, retailers can use Fran’s data analysis to gauge item popularity and even prevent theft.

Jay Steinmetz, president and CEO, Barcoding, said, “By leveraging the power of advanced data capture and mobile technology with Motorola Solutions’ ET1, retailers can optimize their fitting rooms for a significant increase in revenue. As consumers continue to shift more and more to online shopping, FRAN can help retail stores maintain their profitability with new insight into what their customers are purchasing, while still giving customers a pleasant shopping experience. Barcoding and Motorola Solutions encourage clothing retailers attending NRF to stop by our booth [1702] and see, first-hand, how this technology can be an asset to their business.”

FRAN will make her debut on Monday, Jan. 16 at 9 a.m. and demonstrations will run until 6:30 p.m., and on Tuesday, Jan. 17, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Motorola Solutions booth, 1702.
