History of Supply Chain Management
While the term “Supply Chain Management” was officially coined in 1983, the idea behind supply chain management—moving, storing and tracking products has quite a history.
As far back as 1887, when the rudimentary hand truck was developed, to the 1920s when the forklift changed warehousing, to the first UPC barcode in 1974, supply chain management has been evolving and changing the way we do business.
