Barcodes Come to Facebook Offers

You may have noticed something different pop up in your Facebook news feed over the past few months—offers. Offers is a free couponing service from Facebook used for business pages. While the offers have seemed to take off, Facebook is constantly looking for new ways to improve them. And what better way to improve something than by adding a barcode?

Facebook says that barcodes have been one of the most requested features since Offers debuted. By adding barcodes to the Offers, both businesses and Facebook will be able to track what is actually being redeemed. In addition, barcodes open up Offers to e-commerce companies.

Personally, I don’t think Facebook’s addition of barcodes came without the consideration of Apple’s Passbook, but either way, barcodes are a welcome addition to Facebook Offers!
