There’s no doubt that barcodes are cool, but Korean designers ha lim lee, yougduk kim and woonjin kang have taken the awesomeness of barcodes to a whole new level by starting a band—a barcode band!
The collaborators created the band through the use of programmed barcodes. By usng a series of barcode scanners, the barcodes play and loop notes to produce songs. Each barcode corresponds to a specific instrument and are pre-programmed at a specific beat or tone.
Once different barcodes are scanned in a series, users are able to compile tracks—making barcodes sound better than ever before.
