Augmented Reality and Air Guitar

At SXSW, a music and technology festival in Austin, TX, there’s presentations of the most late breaking items in the technological sphere, but what stood out to me was a T-shirt. Mind you, this isn’t any old T-shirt, this article of clothing allows people to play air guitar via barcodes.

This interactive shirt was developed by Warren Fauvel and Luke Khan and has been chosen as a potential recipient of a prize at the festival. The guitar-style shirt works by the wearer’s hand passing over a barcode on the shirt in order to gain points. Specifically, it integrates a webcam and augmented reality technology.
