Acquisition of Versatile Mobile Systems Boosts Barcoding, Inc.’s Offerings

The supply chain experts at Barcoding, Inc. have just announced their acquisition of mobile solutions provider Versatile Mobile Systems, Inc. This strategic acquisition will allow them to bolster their position as the industry’s top system integrator and bring new levels of support to their partners and customers.

Versatile Mobile Systems makes mobile data equipment such as rugged handheld computers, scanners, printers and warehouse Wi-Fi infrastructure in addition to providing life cycle management services. It has been offering businesses innovative mobile solutions since its founding in 1992.

Barcoding, Inc. President Shane Snyder called the acquisition an exciting opportunity for his firm, emphasizing Versatile Mobile Systems’ quarter century of experience, extensive technical staff, and software development resources.

Versatile Mobile Systems Director Andrew Lynch remarked that he was looking forward to expanding his company’s footprint and expertise with Barcoding, Inc., saying that the two firms share a passion for innovative mobile solutions and barcoding.

Better Support

The acquisition of Washington-based Versatile Mobile Systems will allow Barcoding, Inc. to extend its support hours to create a 13-hour coverage period that accommodates those near the West Coast. The firm will offer hours from 8:00 EST until 5:00 PST with their new “follow the sun” model of support. It will also add around 30 experienced experts to its staff through the acquisition, making Barcoding one of the biggest outside sales-oriented firms in the industry.

Barcoding Inc. was established in 1998 and has its headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland, although it has offices throughout the country. It has dedicated practices in Data Capture, Supply Chain Architecture, Client Services, Supply Chain Analytics, Software Services, Consumables and RFID. The firm aims to help organizations increase their accuracy, connectivity and efficiency. Its reach extends to tens of thousands of businesses across many different industries, allowing them to cut their operational costs, boost their revenue and enhance customer experiences.
